Hey There Delilah

Plain White T's frontman Tom Higginson wrote this ode to Columbia University steeplechase runner Delilah DiCrescenzo (pic above). There was never a relationship between Tom Higgenson and DiCrescenzo, but Tom was inspired to write a song about her soon after they were introduced by a mutual friend.

It took over a year for Tom to write the song. However, the real life Delilah, was not interested in Tom because she was already in a relationship.

Awww... that's so sweet!! My gf would be more than happy if I could write a song for her :-)
Anyway, here's the song and the lyric. Enjoy!

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This ones for you

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me.

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese Legend...

Thumb represents your Parents

Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings

Middle finger represents your-Self

Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner

Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back.

Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip (As shown in the figure on top):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... ., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day. Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!! Please try this out......... .... ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

Date Preparation

You might want to do some preparations before going on a date. Here are some preparation dating tips:

  1. Keep nails clean and short. Long nails only look good on gals (Not necessarily)

  2. Try to smell good. Bath and put a lil cologne (keyword is "a lil"). My girlfriend sniffs on me all day long. Imagine if you smelt like a cow/ pig.

  3. Brush your teeth. Keep it clean and have a refreshing breath.

  4. Wear something cool. Don't look like someone from the 70s.

  5. Wear some hand accessories i.e. a presentable watch just so that you look more decorative/ less plain. Not everyone looks like Tom Cruise right?

  6. Have your shoes and glasses clean. I am sure your date is going to scan you from top to toe.

It's all common-sense when it comes to our part but it is 120% sixth sense when it comes to the women. ; ) Lets play our parts right and leave the rest to God ; D

American Idol contestants

Being first is not everything. At least it is true when it comes to all these American Idol contestants who had made it big even without winning the American Idol title. With some who are even more famous than the winner. Big applause to them!!!

Katherine Hope McPhee was the runner-up to Taylor Hicks on the fifth season of American Idol. McPhee's self-titled debut album sold 116,000 copies its first week, debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The first single from the album was the Top 40 hit, "Over It".

Chris Daughtry was the fourt-place finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. He formed a band called Daughtry and came out with their self-titled debut album and outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks' debut effort. His famous songs include "It's Not Over" and "Home".

Clay Aiken was the second-place finisher of American Idol, season 2. So far, he already had three albums in hand and had also won numerous awards in American Music Awards, Billboard Awards and more.

Elliott Yamin was the third-place finalist of American Idol, season 5. His famous song "Wait For You" from his debut album "Movin' On", has been every radio's favourite song.

Sexy Interesting Urinal

We've seen many sexy urinals during our days. Thought this is kinda interesting too. ; )

What Are you Listening to Miss Katherine McPhee?

MSN interviewed Ms McPhee not too long ago. Here's what she had to say about her music likings and influences:

Katharine McPhee

Hometown: Los Angeles

Instrument: Vocal

What five albums or singles are in heavy rotation for you now?
"Dreamgirls" soundtrack: I literally have it playing in my car all the time just to listen to Beyoncé's song called "Listen." It's such a powerful song and just makes you want to sing along. She sounds so incredible.
Gwen Stefani: I was at Starbucks the other day and it was selling there. So I bought it because I have been obsessed with "Wind It Up." I was wanting to buy her record for awhile because of that song but haven't had the chance to get to the record stuff. So now I am officially obsessed with the entire record. She sounds so great, and it's a really fun record.
My Chemical Romance's "The Black Parade": I love this whole record and have loved the band since the beginning. I love that it has this kind of dramatic feel to it. It's different from everything out there and is a nice change from everything else I listen to. (Watch "The Black Parade")
Christina Aguilera's "Back to Basics": I love her new feel to her record. I like the first disc the best. And the song "Makes Me Wanna Pray" is my favorite. I love how soulful the whole record is. And I just love hearing me some good Christina. (View photo gallery Watch "The Making of Candyman")
Corinne Bailey Rae: I put this record on to kind of mellow me out when I have had a long day. I think the record has a really soothing feel to it and I love her lyrics. (Watch "Put Your Records On")

What one song or album can you always listen to and how did you find it?

Christina's "Stripped" record ... I think it was one of the best records that has come out in a long time. I can literally listen to it straight through and love all of it.

What was the first record you ever bought and do you still have it?

Ironically the first one I can remember buying myself is Green Day. Don't get me wrong, I love Green Day, but they definitely weren't the kind of music that was a musical influence. I just thought they were cool and everyone did in sixth grade. I think since the sixth grade, I have misplaced the record. But I did listen to it religiously. I loved it!

What was the first live show you ever saw?

Christina Aguilera at the Greek Theatre when I was 14. It was when she first came out and, after I saw, I was a huge instant fan. She was amazing.

What was the best live show you ever saw?

Earth, Wind & Fire in Seattle when I was 16 or something. I didn't even really know who they were except for being familiar with some of the hits I would hear on the oldies station. But at that time, I knew most all oldies songs on the radio but didn't know the artist. But when I saw them in concert and heard all of their hits and got to see them do their thing, I was blown away. I was like "Man, I wish I was born in that generation." I couldn't believe some of the vocal range and quality of entertainment from all of them. It was the best!

Do you have any guilty pleasures you'd care to reveal?

It's Enya. It's so soothing and reminds me a lot of my childhood.

Transformers: Optimus Prime Vs BoneCrusher

Check out this scene where the Autobots great leader; Optimus Prime goes up against Bonecrusher? I really expected more from this movie. What the hell.... still a very cool clip!!

Zeroes - A Heroes Parody

Everyone knows/ have watched this show one way or another right? Needless to say... we have the parodies as well... Zeroes!!! Check it out!!! Kinda stupid but funny ; )

Gwen Stefani On American Idol and More....

I have always been a fan of Gwen since her early days with No Doubt. Here are some pictures of her lately and also my humble opinion to girls when going out on dates.

Gwen to me is hot. She's really the girl all the bad guys want but sometimes her make up is a little too much though. Lately I saw her on American Idol training the contestants and she actually looked great!!!! SUPER!!!! Not because she gave birth... but just simply because she changed her make up. ; )
See what I mean?????? She looks so much better without the thick blood red lipstick she puts on. ...YUKES!!!!! JLo looks pretty stunning too...as always. Again.... Not too much make up on. Gwen... if you are reading my blog (Fat chance I know)..... Keep up with your new make up. You look hotter than ever.
It's really a matter of preference, taste and choice. Some may look good with lots of make up and some look better without. Judge for yourself and ask opinions of others. I noticed alot of young girls these days overdress and over make up.

Another good example...or shall I say bad....is sometimes Miss Aguilera.
